Why this practice
How we work.
Understand first, then treat
We listen, examine you and work out what is going on. Treatment comes after that.
Not every result is a problem
An abnormal lab value doesn't always need treatment. We tell you what matters and what is incidental.
Further tests when needed
Standard general practice is the basis. Extended tests are added when there is a clear question.
Follow-up over time
Many questions aren't settled in one visit. We see you again and adjust the treatment.
Services
What we do for you.
From an acute infection to long-term care. Services covered by basic insurance are marked KVG.
Acute concerns
Infection, fever, pain, dizziness or a rash: we examine you and tell you clearly what happens next.
Chronic conditions
High blood pressure, thyroid, diabetes, ongoing fatigue. Regular check-ups with a doctor who knows your results.
Check-ups & prevention
Examination and lab tests chosen for your age, history and risk. We do what makes sense for you.
Extended diagnostics
Fatigue, digestion, concentration: when the basic workup finds nothing but the symptoms stay.
Infusions
Iron infusion for proven iron deficiency. Other infusions only when there is a medical reason.
Metabolic analysis
Blood sugar, insulin, blood lipids and thyroid read from your lab results, with a written plan for the next steps.
Weight management
Medical assessment of excess weight and possible causes, with a personal plan and follow-ups.
Driving licence medical
Medical check for your driving licence: from age 75 and for professional categories such as lorry, bus and taxi.
Night & shift work
Examination and advice under Art. 17c of the Swiss Labour Act. We complete the SECO form at the appointment.
Every treatment starts with a conversation, covered by insurance or paid privately.
Driving a truck, bus or taxi? Everything about the medical for professional drivers.

Dr. Harris is an outstanding physician — professional, attentive, and truly dedicated to his patients. He takes the time to listen carefully, explain everything clearly, and ensure you feel comfortable throughout the appointment.
After searching for a good GP for over 7 years, I finally found Dr. Romanos. He is by far the most attentive and thorough doctor I've ever had. From the first appointment, he took time to truly listen.
I feel truly heard by Dr. Romanos. He explains results clearly and creates an individualised treatment plan. He doesn't follow a one-size-fits-all approach — he considers your personal circumstances.
I've been a patient of Dr. Romanos for over a year, and I'm so happy I found him. He was a huge help in getting my health back on track during a really stressful time in my life.

I see patients with acute illness, chronic conditions and for preventive care. If the usual tests don't show a cause, I look further: with lab tests, follow-up visits and a clear assessment.
Not as many tests as possible, but the right ones, explained so you understand them. I speak English, German and Greek, my native language.

Health insurance
How health insurance works here.
Basic insurance (KVG)
Visits to your family doctor are covered by basic health insurance (Grundversicherung, KVG). Until you reach your deductible (Franchise) you pay the bills yourself; after that only your co-payment (Selbstbehalt).
With free choice of doctor (standard model) you can come to us directly. Anything basic insurance doesn't cover, we discuss with you before the examination.
Family doctor model 2027
In a family doctor model (Hausarztmodell) you name one GP to your insurer. For 2027, Dr. Harris Romanos is listed in the models of many insurers, including CSS, Helsana, KPT, Sanitas, SWICA and Visana.
Enter: Dipl. med. Charalampos Romanos, Bahnhofplatz 5, 8001 Zürich, ZSR D581931. A change for 2027 usually has to reach your insurer by 30 November 2026.
Before you sign, check with your insurer that Dr. Romanos is listed in your model. HMO models tied to one health centre are not possible with us. With a Telmed model, call your insurer’s telephone advice line before your appointment. All models for 2027

FAQ
Good to know.
Are you accepting new patients?
Yes, no referral needed. Book a “Medical Consultation” online at drharris.ch/termin and send us the registration form with a photo of your insurance card beforehand. At the first appointment we see together whether the practice is right for you.
What happens at the first appointment?
We go through your concerns and medical history and examine you. Bring your insurance card, a list of your medication and earlier results. If you need blood tests, we take the blood at a separate morning appointment; come fasting, water is fine.
Does my health insurance cover the costs?
GP consultations and tests for symptoms are covered by basic insurance (KVG); your deductible and co-payment apply as usual. Extended specialist tests, prevention without symptoms and aesthetic treatments are usually self-pay. We discuss this with you beforehand.
How quickly can I get an appointment?
Usually within a few days, depending on what you need. We fit in acute problems quickly whenever we can. You can see free slots online at drharris.ch/termin.
Do you offer video or phone consultations?
Only for existing patients who have already been to the practice, for example for a follow-up. You arrange this directly with the practice. The first appointment always takes place in the practice.
When will my lab results be ready?
Most results are ready within 1 to 2 working days; some specialist tests take longer. We go through the results with you at a consultation.
Can the whole consultation be in English or Greek?
Yes. Dr. Romanos speaks English, German and Greek (his native language). Reports to other doctors or to your insurer are usually written in German.
Where is the practice?
Bahnhofplatz 5, 4th floor with lift, 8001 Zürich, right next to Zurich main station. Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 18:00.
